What Our Landscaping Work Looks Like

Most of our landscaping jobs start with a garden that's either been neglected or just doesn't work for the owner anymore. Maybe the lawn is patchy, the fencing has blown down, or the patio is cracked and uneven. We come out, have a look at the space, talk through what you want, and give you a clear plan and price.

Fencing is our most common outdoor job. We install close board, lap panel, picket, and trellis fencing, and we use concrete posts and gravel boards as standard because timber posts rot at the base within a few years. If your existing fence has blown down or is leaning, we'll remove it, set new posts in concrete, and fit new panels. We can also repair individual panels or posts without replacing the whole run.

For patios and paving, we lay porcelain, natural stone, block paving, and standard concrete slabs. The key to a patio that doesn't sink or shift is the groundwork underneath: a proper sub-base, compacted and levelled, with the right fall for drainage. We dig out, lay the base, and install the paving with pointed joints. If your existing patio just needs re-pointing or pressure washing, we do that too.

Garden clearances are something we get called in for regularly. Overgrown gardens, properties that have been empty for a while, or gardens full of rubble and junk from previous building work. We clear everything, dispose of waste responsibly, and can either leave you with a blank canvas or lay turf and plant up so it's ready to use straight away.

Grounds Maintenance for Landlords and Managing Agents

If you manage rental properties or residential blocks, the outdoor space matters more than you might think. An overgrown communal garden or a broken fence puts tenants off and makes the property harder to let. We provide regular grounds maintenance on a contract basis: cutting grass, trimming hedges, clearing paths, and keeping communal areas presentable.

For blocks of flats and HMOs, we handle all communal landscaping including front and rear gardens, bin storage areas, shared pathways, and car park borders. We work to an agreed schedule and can adjust the frequency depending on the time of year. In spring and summer, fortnightly visits are typical. Autumn and winter might be monthly with leaf clearing and gutter maintenance added on.

Between tenancies, we sort out any garden damage: replacing fence panels tenants have broken, clearing overgrown beds, re-turfing worn-out lawns, and jet-washing paths and patios. It all helps the property photograph well and let quickly to the next tenant.

Common Questions

How much does new fencing cost?

It depends on the length of the run, the type of fencing, and ground conditions. Close board fencing with concrete posts and gravel boards is the most popular option and the most durable. We price per metre and include removal of old fencing and disposal. We'll give you a fixed quote after measuring up.

Can you lay a patio in winter?

Yes, as long as the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged. We avoid laying paving in heavy frost because the mortar won't set properly, but most of the autumn and winter is fine for groundwork and installation. We'll advise if conditions aren't suitable.

Do you do regular garden maintenance?

Yes. We offer regular visits for grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, and general garden upkeep. Most residential clients go with fortnightly visits during the growing season. We also do one-off garden tidy-ups if you just need things brought back under control.

Can you remove a large tree?

We handle hedge and small tree removal, but for large trees, especially those covered by Tree Preservation Orders, we'll put you in touch with a specialist arborist. It's important to check TPO status with your council before any tree comes down, as there are significant fines for removing protected trees.

Do you take away the garden waste?

Yes. All green waste, rubble, and old materials are removed and disposed of properly. We're a licensed waste carrier, so everything is handled legally. Disposal costs are included in the quote, so there are no surprise skip charges at the end.
